c1900-1908. Exhibitions of 5 'tall, various widths, panoramic camera. This unusual camera"" A Vista"" is, I think the"" Model 5D"" version and has its case. These cameras were manufactured by the"" Multiscope and Film Company"" Burlington, Wisconsin. The camera body is made of wood covered with leather, I can not find any breakage or major damage, however, there is the usual marks and scratches that would be expected of a well-used item this time. The nickel-plated accessories have retained most of its original finish. The camera has a red window at the front celluloid, this may be a later addition. The lens is attached to a bellows soft leather, no holes or splits in these, the lens moves in an arc of 180 degrees, however, when the lens turning the key in the bottom of the camera only moves 90 degrees. It moves as it should and has three blades that reduce movement at different speeds. The lens moves 180 degrees and fixed in place when moved manually. The release button works lens. The lens is printed with"" 2368"" , but no details of the manufacturer. The opening in the front is 5 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches. There is a plate at the rear of the camera with the details of the manufacturer and the handle top is latched and is robust. An unusual camera that requires some care to restore it in all its glory and be a great addition to any collection of cameras.
