STEREO Meopta cutter, illuminated, and Meopta Meoskop 5 stereo viewer for the format Stereo Master View, EXC ++ A cutter illuminated Meopta stereo, which uses the stereo format View Master, and Mepta Meoskop 5 stereo viewer, which uses the stereo Meopta reels, to the like Stereo View Master reels. Made in Czechoslovakia, by the Meopta factory during the years 60 to 65. Very good condition. Meopta was formed in 1933 and manufactured camera and other precision lens. Still today are famous optics and producing military weapons. Meoskop Meopta viewers were produced in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia in the 1960s will take the normal reels View-Master, but were actually designed to take the reels manufactured by Meopta. There is a reputation for being a model Meoskop I, but the author of this website has never seen one, nor has its contacts in the former Czechoslovakia. Until they can find no evidence of its existence, it must be assumed that the Meoskop II was the first viewer production company. Meopta reels used color film Gottwaldov, unlike Kodachrome, such as those using Sawyers and GAF, and much tendency to discolour with age. Images are also generally of a lower standard, however, many of the themes of these reels are unique, showing a glimpse of life in the communist bloc in the sixties. The Meoskop 5 is a light visor grip 1981. It is comfortable to hold, feels robust and performs its function well, giving increased 6X.
