Two porcelain cups lithographic commemorative coronation of Edward VII in 1902. Lithography is a printing process that consists of drawing a picture, a text or a photograph, in a limestone or a metal plate. Today almost obsolete, except for the production and duplication of artistic works. Its creator was the German typesetter Alois Senefelder in 1796. Etymologically, the word"" lithography"" comes from the Greek words lithos, 'stone', and graphe, 'drawing' In the lithographic technique different bonding and hydrophobic is used between hydrophilic substances. As water rejects greasy inks, oily areas not printed but are at the same level, so the lithographic matrices are also called planographic.
