The Exa is a 35mm SLR developed by Ihagee, and is a simple but reliable version of the Exakta. It has a simple guillotine shutter instead of the focal plane shutter Exakta. Despite the slower maximum shutter speed at which this leads, the Exa cameras are well designed for ambitious amateurs. The cameras have waist level viewfinders and interchangeable prism and were sold with lenses Ludwig Meyer and Carl Zeiss. Later models have faster shutter fixed but viewers. Some early Exas were made by Rheinmetall, and other late by Certo. Exa Ihagee Manufacturing country: Germany (former GDR) Made from 1956-0.
