The Heidoscop was the first made by Franke & Heidecke camera, optical equipment manufacturers located in the German town of Braunschweig. Founded in 1920 by Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke years later, the company became known as Rollei-Werke. The firm was responsible for the launch of the series of cameras Rolleiflex and Rolleirecord. The design of the camera in question, the Heidoscop, is clearly inspired by the Stereflektosko of Voigtländer, manufactured in 1914.
