Hanimex Corporation was an importer and distributor of cameras, lenses and other photographic equipment in Australia and New Zealand. The company also distributed consumer and other non-electronic photographic equipment. The Hanimex cameras often sold under the brand Hanimex or in collaboration with Hanimex brand and brand manufacturers (eg Hanimex Topcon). Photographic products distributed by the company were made by Tokyo Kogaku, Sedic and Royal in Japan, Finetta, Montanus, Vredeborch and Dacora in West Germany, by Pentacon in East Germany, and other manufacturers. Hanimex distributed SLR lenses for several different lens mounts under the brand Hanimex. Since 1954, Hanimex was also the sole distributor of Fuji Film products in New Zealand [1]. Hanimex sold camera flashes, film cameras (eg Hanimex Loadmatic MP300 Super8, Hanimex U8 Zoom Super8), slide projectors [2] (for example, Hanimex Arus 500) and film projectors (for example, movie projector Dual-matic Hanimex Super8 IQ 1000S) and equipment dark rooms.
